The role of the Nightlife Coordinator is vital within the Mayor9s Office of Arts, Culture & Entertainment (MOACE). This position acts as the primary liaison between the City of Baltimore and the nightlife industry, aiming to ensure the city's nighttime economy remains vibrant, equitable, well-regulated, and safe. The Nightlife Coordinator collaborates with a wide array of stakeholders, including local businesses, neighborhood associations, government agencies, artists, and residents, to foster a cohesive and thriving nightlife community. This multifaceted role balances economic development with public safety and quality of life concerns, aligning nightlife initiatives with the city9s broader cultural and economic visions. Key responsibilities include engaging with nightlife industry stakeholders to build strong relationships and resolve conflicts, facilitating regular forums to encourage stakeholder participation in policymaking, and working alongside regulatory bodies such as the Baltimore City Liquor Board and law enforcement agencies to streamline permitting and licensing processes. The position also involves researching best practices nationally to recommend innovative solutions in nightlife governance, including harm reduction, responsible service, and equitable access to nightlife opportunities. Operationally, the Nightlife Coordinator works closely with multiple city departments to coordinate traffic management, sanitation, security, and public safety efforts in nightlife districts. They assist in developing operational plans for large-scale events and seasonal activations and partner with city agencies to improve infrastructure supporting nightlife, including lighting, transportation access, and late-night services. Additionally, this role champions nightlife as part of Baltimore9s cultural identity and tourism strategy by collaborating with Visit Baltimore and local businesses. The Nightlife Coordinator also identifies opportunities for grants, sponsorships, and partnerships to support venues, artists, and creative entrepreneurs. Data collection and analysis form an important part of the position, where the Nightlife Coordinator tracks industry activity, business performance, safety incidents, and community feedback to guide informed policy decisions. They prepare reports and recommendations for MOACE leadership, the Mayor9s Office, and City Council to sustain and advance Baltimore9s nightlife economy. This comprehensive role demands a bachelor9s degree in public policy, urban studies, arts/cultural management, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Candidates should have three to five years of relevant experience in nightlife, hospitality, event management, urban policy, or related industries. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of nightlife operations, liquor licensing, community relations, excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills, along with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and safety in nightlife and cultural programming.   • Bachelor's degree in public policy urban studies arts cultural management business or related field or equivalent experience
