The role of the Cook within our team is pivotal and demands a meticulous approach to food preparation and kitchen operations. This position involves preparing a diverse range of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other ingredients using various kitchen equipment such as broilers, grills, and fryers. The Cook assumes full responsibility for the quality of the products served, ensuring adherence to standardized portion sizes, cooking methods, recipe instructions, and presentation standards. This role is vital in sustaining the kitchen’s workflow by keeping prepared food continuously moving out, effectively communicating with service and kitchen staff, and completing all prep work to set up stations efficiently. The Cook must maintain an exceptionally clean workstation, perform thorough daily breakdowns, and ensure proper sanitation throughout their shift. Maintaining inventory control through timely requisition of products and proper rotation of stocks is critical to this role. Physical stamina is essential as the job involves lifting heavy items, working in hot and damp conditions, and standing and moving for extended periods. The Cook must also navigate hazards such as cuts, burns, slips, and trips and maintain exceptional situational awareness in a noisy kitchen environment. Effective communication skills are a necessity, as is the ability to read and interpret menu checks accurately.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and cooking methods
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform repetitive tasks such as bending and stooping
  • Ability to work in hot and damp kitchen environment
  • Strong communication skills to understand and relay kitchen orders
