Precision Castparts Corp (PCC) is a leading global manufacturer specializing in large, complex structural investment castings, airfoil castings, forged components, aerostructures, and critical fasteners primarily for aerospace applications. With over 120 operations worldwide and approximately 20,000 employees, PCC is renowned for its dedication to quality, dependability, and strategic growth. Acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in 2016, the company remains a dominant force in producing airfoil castings for both aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets, as well as extruded seamless pipe and fittings for power generation and oil and gas industries. PCC's products also extend to commercial and military airframe aerostructures and various metal alloys serving the casting and forging sectors. The company emphasizes a high-quality, low-cost, and on-time production philosophy aimed at delivering exceptional value to customers while fostering profitable growth. The role of Janitor within the LPC division's Structurals segment in Portland, Oregon, is a full-time, on-site position critical to maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the plant facilities and grounds. The primary mission of this position is to keep the operational environment orderly and hygienic, which supports the overall efficiency and safety of PCC’s manufacturing processes. This position requires a dedicated individual who is responsible for cleaning various work areas, including offices, lunchrooms, bathrooms, and manufacturing zones, specifically the SSBO and TBO areas. Tasks involve dust control, floor maintenance such as scraping and vacuuming, cleaning glass surfaces, and managing trash receptacles effectively. In addition, the Janitor is tasked with maintaining the cleanliness of the plant grounds by removing trash and ensuring all outdoor areas are well-kept. Safety is a paramount concern, and the Janitor must adhere strictly to plant and department safety regulations, operate equipment such as forklifts and cleaning machinery safely, and report any safety issues promptly. This role may involve handling hazardous waste, necessitating specialized training provided by the company, including forklift safety certification and potentially hazardous waste management training. The position demands a candidate with a basic ability to follow verbal and written instructions and the physical capability to perform assigned tasks. A valid driver's license is required for driving PCC vehicles within the plant as needed. Moreover, due to the sensitive nature of PCC’s production processes involving national security controls and export regulations like ITAR and EAR, the successful candidate must qualify as a U.S. Person according to federal definitions and supply verifiable evidence of this status before employment can commence. Overall, this role is essential in supporting PCC’s commitment to operational excellence, safety, and a clean working environment that fosters productive manufacturing and employee wellbeing.
