Core Spaces (Core) is more than a real estate company; it is a people company that values building relationships as much as building properties. Established in 2010, Core is a vertically integrated real estate investment manager specializing in the acquisition, development, and management of student housing and build-to-rent (BTR) residential communities. Core’s approach blends architecture, design, hospitality, and operations to create spaces that enhance the living experience. With over 48,000 student housing beds currently owned or managed and nearly 50,000 beds in development, alongside thousands of BTR homes across high-growth metros in the United States, Core is redefining modern living through innovation and collaboration. Core Spaces is guided by six cultural values: PUSH (Invent Better Places to Live), GRIT (We Got This), LIFT (Help Each Other Win), SHINE (Bring Your Full Self), UPHOLD (Never Break Trust), and GROW (Always Get Better). These principles shape their work environment and underpin their commitment to creating exceptional residential communities that prioritize the resident experience. Core champions diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a workplace where every employee’s unique perspective is valued and where belonging is more than a concept – it’s a reality. The company offers competitive pay, generous paid time off including holidays and birthdays, paid parental leave, volunteer time off, comprehensive health benefits, employee assistance programs, and retirement savings plans, supporting its team’s overall wellness and growth. The Porter role at Core Spaces is pivotal to maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the property grounds and amenities. The position requires hands-on management of groundskeeping tasks such as trash removal, landscaping upkeep, cleaning swimming pools, and ensuring that amenities meet the company’s high presentation standards. Porters serve as the frontline custodians of the property’s physical environment, ensuring that residents experience a clean, safe, and welcoming community every day. Working onsite, the Porter will follow daily checklists to maintain exterior cleanliness and the overall curb appeal of the property. This includes routine cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and arranging property furniture to uphold brand standards. The position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly, manage bending and stooping movements, and work flexible hours that may include evenings, weekends, overtime, and assisting with move-ins and move-outs. The role reports directly to the Community Engineering Manager and plays a crucial support role in ensuring properties remain in optimal condition. Core Spaces values candidates with a high school education or equivalent, proficiency with simple computer tasks, and ideally, experience in maintenance, skilled trades, or the student housing/multi-family industry. As a member of Core’s team, the Porter will contribute to a culture centered on collaboration, innovation, and personal growth. Being part of such an environment means having opportunities to develop new skills, participate in a diverse and inclusive workplace, and help shape the future of living through exceptional property care and service.
