The Nutrition Service department at Parkview Health is looking for dedicated and motivated Porters to join their team. This role is integral to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in various service areas including retail, patient services, and coffee kiosks. Under the guidance of the Nutrition Services Manager and Supervisor, the Porter is charged with ensuring sanitation excellence, following safety protocols, and contributing to the smooth operation of the department. Upon hire, Porters are automatically enrolled in the Nutrition Services Career Path, which provides unique learning and skill development opportunities. Successful completion of this career path offers an additional pay incentive of $3.50 per hour. The Porter role involves a variety of tasks such as ware washing following safety guidelines, managing pot and pan supplies for the Cooks area, assisting where needed across different station areas, as well as handling vendor receiving from delivery docks. Storage and maintenance of supplies in the storeroom and potential transportation of food to satellite locations may also be part of the job responsibilities depending on departmental needs. This position is dynamic and may require working at any of the Parkview entities, offering a diverse work environment within the healthcare setting. Parkview Health values professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the physical ability to perform the essential duties such as lifting up to 40 pounds and frequent standing, walking, stooping, and bending. This role is ideal for candidates with at least one year of experience in hospitality, customer service, general labor, or previous nutritional services experience particularly in a medical or hospital environment. The position typically prefers a minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma or GED.
