Core Spaces, known simply as Core, is much more than just a real estate company. Founded in 2010, it is a vertically integrated real estate investment manager that focuses on acquiring, developing, and managing residential properties specifically within the student housing and build-to-rent (BTR) sectors. Core prides itself on being a people-first company where building meaningful relationships is just as significant as developing state-of-the-art properties. The company is home to a diverse group of professionals including researchers, architects, designers, and operators, all united by a shared mission to invent the future of living. Core's work culture is driven by a strong set of six cultural values: PUSH (Invent Better Places to Live), GRIT (We Got This), LIFT (Help Each Other Win), SHINE (Bring Your Full Self), UPHOLD (Never Break Trust), and GROW (Always Get Better). These values guide the company every day and are embedded in everything Core does, from innovation to collaboration, making it a unique place to thrive and develop professionally.
Core’s residential communities offer world-class amenities, progressive designs, and hospitality-driven service, setting them apart in the competitive real estate market. The company manages a substantial portfolio featuring over 48,000 student housing beds and has an exciting pipeline of projects totaling over 49,800 beds under various stages of development. Additionally, its build-to-rent division manages over 3,000 homes that are in development, currently leasing, or planned in key high-growth metropolitan areas nationwide. Core’s reputation for delivering innovative, resident-focused living environments is well-recognized in the industry.
The Porter position within Core Spaces plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and upkeep of the properties. This full-time, on-site role focuses on groundskeeping responsibilities that ensure the exterior and amenity spaces of the properties remain inviting, clean, and safe. The Porter works closely with the Community Engineering Manager and other team members to complete essential daily tasks to uphold the property’s standards. Responsibilities include everything from removing and preparing trash for pickup, to maintaining landscaping, sweeping and cleaning pool areas, and managing the presentation of outdoor furniture. Daily upkeep like mopping and vacuuming is integral to preserving an appealing environment for residents and visitors alike.
This role requires physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, bending, and stooping throughout the workday. Working additional hours during evenings, weekends, or times of high turnover such as move-outs and move-ins may also be necessary. Core Spaces emphasizes a culture that supports its employees with benefits like competitive pay, generous paid time off including holidays and parental leave, health plans, and wellness programs to ensure an inclusive, supportive working environment. The Porter is an essential brand ambassador onsite, helping to maintain the standard of excellence that Core Spaces is known for.
At Core Spaces, the company culture is deeply rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring everyone has a voice and a sense of belonging. They are committed to providing employees with an environment where they can bring their full selves to work and grow within their careers.
