The role of the Janitor within Castle Group is pivotal to the overall presentation and sanitation of the community living spaces. The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in common areas such as hallways, lobbies, elevators, clubhouses, and fitness centers. This position plays a critical role in creating a positive living experience for residents by ensuring that all shared spaces are spotless, hygienic, and orderly. The Janitor is expected to perform a variety of cleaning duties including trash removal, floor care, dusting, polishing, sanitizing restrooms and kitchen areas, restocking supplies, and organizing amenities. Additionally, the Janitor participates in safety compliance activities such as properly using personal protective equipment and reporting unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment. This role also includes assisting with event set-up and hurricane preparation, making it essential for the candidate to be adaptable and proactive. Strong customer service skills are crucial, as the Janitor represents Castle Group’s Royal Service standard, interacting courteously and professionally with residents and staff. • high school diploma or equivalency preferred
• 1+ year as a housekeeper or similar position
• knowledge and understanding of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) required
• skilled in operating select mechanical and electrical equipment (i.e. vacuum, mops, leaf blower, pressure washer, etc.)
• basic literacy and numeracy skills required to understand cleaning and safety guidelines
• strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• able to work under tight deadlines and use time effectively based on key priorities
• basic command of computer hardware/software
