The organization is currently seeking a part-time Porter to join their Public Works department, reporting directly to the Custodian Superintendent. This role offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $22.00 to $24.00 per hour, with a variable work schedule designed to meet the needs of the community and the organization. The Porter position is integral to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of the outdoor common areas throughout The Villages. This physically active role requires hands-on outdoor work using a variety of tools and machinery to keep pathways, entryways, courtyards, and surrounding grounds clean and well-kept. The Porter is expected to embody The Villages’ guiding principles and core values in all aspects of their duties to support a welcoming and positive environment. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining outdoor spaces such as walkways, patios, trash enclosures, and parking areas, utilizing equipment like blowers and pressure washers for debris removal. Additionally, this role involves light landscaping tasks, emptying trash and recycling bins, and assisting with setting up outdoor spaces as needed. Beyond general outdoor maintenance, the Porter may occasionally assist with tasks related to the equestrian stables, including cleaning barn aisles, managing manure, and caring for horses under supervision. The role demands physical stamina, the ability to handle equipment safely, and a proactive approach to reporting hazards or maintenance needs. Workers will be expected to follow safety protocols strictly, maintain equipment properly, and interact courteously with residents and colleagues alike.   • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of one year paid physical labor experience
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Valid California driver’s license required
  • Commitment to safety standards in handling equipment and working around horses
  • Pre-employment drug test and criminal history check required
  • Adherence to manure handling and disposal program
  • Ability to work any day as scheduled
