The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass plays a crucial part in the overall customer service and operational efficiency of the company. This position focuses primarily on maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the vehicles as well as the shop and office facilities. The Porter directly supports the repair process by pre-washing customer vehicles before repairs begin and performing interior and exterior vehicle cleanups after repairs are complete. Beyond vehicle care, the Porter ensures the production and office areas meet Gerber’s high standards of cleanliness and organization, which contributes to a safe and efficient working environment. Responsibilities also include maintaining the parking lots and grounds, including seasonal tasks like shoveling sidewalks whenever necessary, and transporting vehicles to sublet repair locations when needed. This role is vital to ensuring that customers receive their vehicles in spotless condition and that the overall facility reflects the company’s commitment to excellence. The ideal Porter is someone comfortable multitasking in a physically active environment and has experience or familiarity with automotive settings.
