The Cook position at Guest Services plays a critical role within the hospitality team by assisting the Chef or General Manager in preparing, cooking, and serving food that meets high-quality standards. This hourly role, compensated at $17 per hour, is vital in ensuring food service operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Cook will be responsible for preparing dishes according to established recipes and daily menus while adhering to supervisor instructions. They must maintain cleanliness and operational standards by routinely cleaning and inspecting kitchen equipment and appliances. Additionally, the Cook operates a food station, performing essential tasks such as station checklists, temperature logging, and ensuring proper signage is displayed. The role also involves requisitioning food supplies and kitchen equipment based on projected needs to support uninterrupted kitchen operations. Cost-consciousness is important as the Cook monitors menu selections and spending to prepare meals economically without compromising quality. Maintaining safety in the kitchen environment is a priority where the Cook is expected to stay aware of safety issues and promptly report any concerns to management. This position requires physical stamina as it involves moving about frequently, standing for the entire workday, lifting and carrying food supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally, and working in varying temperature conditions ranging from freezers to warm grill areas.
