The Assistant Manager at Pei Wei reports directly to the General Manager and is charged with the responsibility of overseeing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. This position requires a dynamic leader who can perform daily management tasks with minimal supervision and provide guidance to the restaurant team. The Assistant Manager acts as a secondary leader who assumes all managerial duties when the General Manager is absent, ensuring continuity in maintaining high standards of guest service and operational efficiency.
Focused on maintaining the balance between quality, safety, and financial success, the Assistant Manager works closely with the General Manager to leverage profit and loss data to drive business results. This includes managing labor costs, food cost control, and customer satisfaction metrics. The role involves supervising food preparation, ensuring compliance with state safety and sanitation standards, and mentoring the team members to enhance productivity and engagement. Responsibilities also extend to inventory management, scheduling, staff training, and community representation to promote the Pei Wei brand.

- 2 years management experience for external candidates
- 1 year Pei Wei Manager experience or 6 months Pei Wei Manager experience and 1 year previous restaurant management experience for internal candidates
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to make timely decisions based on data and experience
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges
- Ability to train and develop team members in multiple roles
- Capacity to stand and walk for eight to ten hours per shift
- Ability to reach, bend, balance, and transport objects up to 30 lbs
