Currently, UPMC Children's Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Patient & Family Concierge (PFC) for its Emergency Department. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall experience of patients, their families, and visitors during their time at the hospital. The role is part-time and involves rotating, weekend, and holiday shifts, making flexibility a key attribute for candidates. The PFC will be compensated starting at $18.00 per hour, with the final placement and pay rate dependent on the candidate’s experience and educational background. The Patient & Family Concierge will primarily be focused on providing compassionate, patient-centered service, emphasizing administrative support within the Emergency Department. Duties include greeting and assisting patients and families upon arrival, ensuring they are guided effectively to their destinations while maintaining patient confidentiality. The PFC will act as the first point of contact at the front desk, answering phones and responding to patient call lights, thereby facilitating smooth communication within the department. In addition to direct patient and family interaction, the PFC will be responsible for several key administrative and support tasks. This includes tracking patient belongings, providing parking validations, managing scooters, and handling meal tray deliveries. The concierge will also be instrumental in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of patient rooms, public spaces, and supply areas within the Emergency Department. They are tasked with replenishing necessary supplies, reporting maintenance needs to ensure a safe and comfortable environment, and managing inventory by monitoring expiration dates of materials. This role requires a dedicated individual with a high level of attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy emergency healthcare setting. The PFC serves as a vital liaison between patients, families, hospital staff, and visitors, ensuring that everyone’s experience is as supportive and positive as possible during times of stress and uncertainty. • High school diploma or equivalent or one year of previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED
