This job opening is for a part-time Patient Dining Associate position located at Christus Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler, Texas. The role primarily involves supporting patient meal services on assigned hospital units, ensuring a safe and satisfying dining experience for patients. Scheduling is part-time with varying day and evening shifts, making it an ideal position for those seeking flexible working hours. The pay range for this position is $15.00 to $15.50 per hour. As a Patient Dining Associate, you will be an essential member of the caregiving team, directly impacting patient satisfaction and safety. Your responsibilities include assisting patients with menu selections, assembling and delivering their meal trays accurately and on time, and collaborating with nursing staff to ensure meals comply with patients' dietary needs and restrictions. You will also handle tray tickets and manage meal assembly efficiently. This role requires adherence to regulatory standards including federal, state, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) guidelines, as well as strict compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) policies to maintain confidentiality and protect patient rights. Your duties will also encompass following Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures in food handling and sanitation, maintaining infection control practices, and assisting dietitians in monitoring patients with special dietary requirements such as liquid diets or calorie counts. Effective communication with healthcare personnel regarding patient concerns is vital, along with completing necessary reports and complying with all health and sanitation regulations.
