The role of the Patient Concierge at St. Luke's is pivotal in enhancing the patient experience by acting as a passionate advocate and providing administrative and patient support services within the clinic setting. This position requires engaging patients in a polite, prompt, and compassionate manner throughout their interactions within the practice. The Patient Concierge performs key clerical functions such as patient check-in, consent, check-out, pre-registration, eligibility verification, scheduling, payment collection, and responding to patient inquiries. This role also involves delivering waiting room concierge services including assisting patients with self-check-in kiosks and facilitating smooth practice operations such as opening and closing procedures, maintaining cleanliness, managing mail and deliveries, handling cash, and processing incoming communications. Collaboration is a significant part of this role as Patient Concierges work closely with other team members and departments like the Access Center to address scheduling needs and clinical inquiries efficiently. This position demands a solution-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate and meet the unique needs of patients, ensuring a remarkable and empathetic care experience. The role is suited for individuals who possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are quality-driven, and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to service excellence and patient care. Preference is given to candidates with healthcare or customer service experience, and successful applicants will be those who thrive in fast-paced environments where compassion and precision are paramount.
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum one year practice-based experience or in a similar healthcare setting preferred
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours
  • Continual use of fingers for patient care, writing and computer entry
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to push carts with supplies up to 30 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to push wheelchairs weighing up to 325 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stoop, bend and reach above shoulder level regularly
  • Ability to hear normal conversation and have good general, near and peripheral vision
