The role of Patient Access & Guest Services Representative at Mary Free Bed is critical as the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, blending concierge-level customer service with essential administrative support. This day-shift role operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, ensuring that all guests receive a warm, professional welcome and guidance throughout their visit. The representative helps facilitate a smooth flow of outpatient services and rehabilitation programs by providing wayfinding assistance, securing mobility aids such as courtesy wheelchairs, and maintaining an orderly guest environment. This position requires an individual who embodies warmth, professionalism, and pride in service, reflecting the hospital’s commitment to compassionate care and patient satisfaction.
This role also requires effective communication skills, both for internal coordination and for assisting guests and patients. The Patient Access & Guest Services Representative acts as a liaison between patients and various hospital departments, ensuring accurate information dissemination and efficient patient throughput. Important tasks include managing communications via phone and internal systems, partnering with volunteers and staff, and supporting outpatient access work queues to enhance operational efficiency. - High school diploma or GED
- Two years of customer service experience preferably in healthcare
- Competent with computers including Microsoft Office Suite
- Functional hearing ability for phone and PA communications
- Ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours as needed
- Problem resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively in standard English
- Ability to understand and follow written, oral, or diagram instructions
