The Phoenician, a Luxury Collection Resort located in Scottsdale, Arizona, is one of the premier destinations in the hospitality industry. This renowned luxury resort is part of The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts portfolio, which comprises over 120 hotels across more than 35 countries. The Luxury Collection brand has a rich history spanning over 100 years, evolving from its origins as CIGA, a prestigious collection of iconic European hotels established in 1906. Today, The Phoenician embodies this legacy of exquisite elegance and cultural richness, offering guests authentic and memorable experiences that reflect the unique charm of its desert location and the cultural treasures of Scottsdale and the surrounding region. Marriott International, the parent company, is a global leader in hospitality known for its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and unparalleled guest service. As a full-time Pastry Cook III on the daytime shift, you will play a vital role in maintaining the resort’s reputation for culinary excellence. This non-management position involves preparing and cooking food in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists. Your expertise will be essential in portioning ingredients, chopping, and storing them properly for use. You will work effectively with specialized kitchen tools, appliances, and baking equipment, ensuring the safe and appropriate handling of all items. Safety and hygiene are paramount in this role, and you will be responsible for adhering to all food safety policies and personal hygiene procedures, as well as monitoring kitchen and food temperatures to meet company standards. Any issues that arise must be promptly reported to management. Your duties will include cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen area, organizing and assigning workstations, and consistently monitoring the quality and portion sizes of food served throughout your shift. You will also ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and cleanliness standards, reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions. Completing all safety trainings and certifications is essential to uphold the resort’s high safety standards. Maintaining a professional appearance and uniform is mandatory, along with safeguarding proprietary company information and assets. Excellent communication skills are necessary for interacting professionally with co-workers and handling phone calls with appropriate protocols. At The Phoenician, fostering positive working relationships and supporting team efforts to achieve collective goals is highly valued. The environment requires physical stamina, including the ability to move, lift, transport, push, pull, or position objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. You will frequently navigate sloped, uneven, or slippery surfaces and be required to stretch, bend, crouch, twist, and stand or sit for extended periods. Flexibility to perform additional reasonable duties as directed by supervisors is expected. This role is an excellent opportunity for one looking to grow within a prestigious luxury resort brand and who is passionate about culinary arts, particularly in the pastry domain.
