The role of Pastry Chef at Castle Pines Golf Club is integral to enhancing the overall dining and hospitality experience offered to members. This position involves preparing an extensive variety of baked goods from scratch, including breads, cookies, cakes, pies, ice creams, and chocolates, utilizing both traditional and modern recipes. Responsibilities extend to preparing items for diverse dining settings such as plated desserts, buffets, and private caterings. The Pastry Chef must skillfully manage daily prep lists and organize tasks to ensure timely baking and readiness for service. Additionally, this role requires creative decoration of pastries using a range of icings and toppings, ensuring each product is visually appealing and of the highest quality.
Attention to detail is paramount, as the Pastry Chef will visually inspect ingredients and finished products to maintain the club’s high standards. Monitoring fresh and frozen par items is a daily task, complemented by adherence to strict food safety and hygiene guidelines according to Food Handlers regulations. Cleanliness and sanitation are essential in this role, including participation in regular cleaning of kitchen facilities and equipment. Working collaboratively within the kitchen team, the Pastry Chef will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative dessert creations that align with the club’s dynamic monthly menu changes. Flexibility to assist in other kitchen areas when required also forms part of the position. The employment type is hourly, offering a competitive wage between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour, which reflects the skill and dedication expected of the successful candidate.
- Previous culinary or pastry experience preferred
- Flexible scheduling availability to work early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually
- Strong time management skills and self-motivation to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to stand on your feet for 75% of the time and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic knowledge of ingredients, piping and writing with icings and chocolate
- Ability to do basic math quickly and accurately
