Situated at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd and directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center, this 29-story hotel will be an iconic landmark in South Florida offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and unparalleled convenience to cruise terminals and airports. The property will feature 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple dining venues including a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center, as well as over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space including a grand ballroom and 25 breakout rooms with waterfront views. We are currently seeking passionate and skilled pastry professionals to join the pre-opening team of the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel. This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a dynamic environment where the culinary team collaborates to deliver excellence in guest dining experiences. The pastry cook role at Omni Fort Lauderdale involves preparing and serving all pastries with high quality standards and strict adherence to established procedures. Depending on the candidate's experience, positions available range from Pastry Prep Cook (entry level) to advanced Pastry Cook roles. Responsibilities include producing sweet items like pastries, cakes, breads, fruit compotes, and chocolates for multiple outlets and banquet functions, ensuring consistent quality and presentation. Candidates will work in a fast-paced setting requiring multi-tasking abilities while supporting a collaborative team atmosphere. The role demands maintaining cleanliness and upholding health department standards according to Omni and EcoSure policies. Ideal candidates will be familiar with pastry cooking techniques, batch and quantity production methods, and possess good culinary tool proficiency. This position requires reliability, flexibility for varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, and a professional demeanor.   • Minimum 6 months (for entry level) to 3 years (advanced) relevant pastry/culinary experience
  • must be familiar with all pastry cooking techniques
  • culinary degrees and/or formal training preferred

  • must be able to utilize culinary tools (knives, commercial equipment, etc.) and taste/smell
