The Bakery Associate role at SusieCakes is essential to maintaining the high standards of quality and customer satisfaction the brand is known for. This position involves preparing all SusieCakes product offerings including custom and specialty cakes based on guest requests. The associate is responsible for maintaining quality control in the creation of each baked good, ensuring every item meets the company’s strict standards. Tasks include executing creative and complex cake decorating orders, adhering to recipes and standard operating procedures to prepare a wide variety of baked goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bars, puddings, and buttercreams. In addition to baking and decorating, Bakery Associates perform essential duties such as cleaning and storing bakery pots, pans, utensils, and dishes either by hand or with dishwashing equipment. They also operate and maintain bakery machinery like mixers, ovens, sheeters, and dishwashers. Associates are expected to manage inventory levels by restocking supplies and advising management accordingly to maintain smooth production flow. They work shifts to fulfill production schedules and ensure food safety by handling and storing products according to health code standards. This role requires a dependable individual who is adaptable and able to work a flexible schedule aligned with business needs. Associates may also cross-function by assisting the guest service team when required, enhancing the overall customer experience. Physical stamina is important, as the role involves frequent walking, kneeling, bending, reaching, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Taste testing baked goods to assure quality is also a key responsibility.
