The Museum is currently seeking a part-time Cashier to join its team. This role is vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors, ensuring smooth and accurate processing of admission fees and purchases in the Museum Store. Working closely with the Museum Director, the Cashier will serve as the first point of contact for many guests, requiring a friendly and patient demeanor. The position offers flexible part-time hours, capped at 29 per week or 1000 annually, with shifts covering Museum operating hours from Tuesday to Saturday and Sunday afternoons, including at least one weekend shift. The hourly pay is $17, reflecting the importance of the role in maintaining excellent customer service standards and operational efficiency.
In this position, accuracy and efficiency are paramount as the Cashier handles both cash and credit card transactions. The role also involves encouraging visitors to become Museum Members, contributing to the institution’s growth and sustainability. Embracing new technologies and organizational practices is essential, as familiarity with software programs like Workday and Microsoft Office is required. - Previous cash handling experience including cash register and credit card processing
