The role of 2nd Shift Manager at West Star is a critical leadership position within the company, focused on maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency during the evening shift. Reporting primarily to the Senior Project Manager and working closely with day-shift Program Managers, the 2nd Shift Manager ensures smooth turnover between shifts and effective supervision of maintenance, modifications, and support disciplines. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, customer specifications, and internal company procedures, guaranteeing that every task is executed with precision and safety in mind. Operating primarily between 3:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, the 2nd Shift Manager serves as the single point of contact for all second-shift team members and customers. This individual not only leads by example but also takes ownership of the entire facility's performance and safety during these critical hours. Key responsibilities include developing and executing nightly workflow plans aligned with broader site schedules, providing ongoing coaching and leadership to employees, and addressing performance or safety concerns promptly. The role also ensures that operational support and administrative teams have the necessary guidelines and resources to meet the evolving demands of the shift. Moreover, the 2nd Shift Manager actively participates in manpower planning, including hiring and training processes, and contributes to employee development through quarterly reviews and promotion recommendations.   • Possess an Associate's Degree, HS Diploma or GED
  • Prefer an A&P license or ability to acquire Repairman Certificate
  • Minimum of 8 years aviation service center experience including 4 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees, customers and management
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
