The Area Office Administrator I role at Young Life plays a pivotal part in maintaining the smooth operation of the field ministry area office, particularly supporting activities in Topeka, KS. This part-time position, offering 15-25 hours per week with flexible scheduling, requires collaboration with event coordinators, ministry staff, volunteers, and other team members to ensure the success of key organizational events and programs. The role encompasses comprehensive administrative and event support, including but not limited to, helping organize major events such as annual fundraisers, leader gatherings, and community outreach programs. The responsibilities include managing logistics, supporting communication efforts, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining databases and records essential to operational continuity.
Specific duties involve managing event registrations and invitations, assisting with quarterly reporting, supporting guest experience logistics, and handling merchandising orders. The role also supports ministry-specific administrative tasks such as organizing parent meetings and responding to inquiries, which are critical during the camping seasons and other programs. A significant part of the job involves handling communications and marketing support with tools such as Mailchimp, online registration platforms, and Google Workspace to maintain high engagement and effective information dissemination.
The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate's degree preferred, and possesses previous administrative assistant experience. Key skills include exceptional organizational ability, multitasking proficiency, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to operate in a detail-oriented environment with multiple concurrent responsibilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort in adapting to digital tools are essential.
