DispatchHealth is a pioneering healthcare provider redefining the delivery of acute and specialized medical care outside the traditional hospital setting. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, DispatchHealth is a rapidly scaling startup that leverages mobile and virtual healthcare technology to bring hospital-level care directly to patients in the comfort of their own homes. The company’s innovative hospital-at-home model provides high-touch, personalized care that is both convenient and designed to improve patient outcomes, reducing the need for inpatient hospitalization. DispatchHealth combines the expertise of seasoned healthcare professionals with advanced technology and operational excellence to deliver a seamless continuum of care that supports patients across various conditions such as infections, heart failure, pneumonia, and postoperative recovery. The organization’s culture emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and compassionate care grounded in their core values represented by The DispatchWay: courage, innovation, integrity, and compassion. DispatchHealth supports its workforce with comprehensive benefits like medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401(k), paid time off, and family leave, fostering a supportive environment for professional growth and wellbeing. The Paramedic II position at DispatchHealth plays a critical and multifaceted role in this home-based care framework. This role is tailored for skilled paramedics who are certified EMT-Ps with at least two years of patient-facing experience, demonstrating proficiency in advanced clinical interventions and patient assessment. Operating with an expanded scope under approved medical protocols and the direct delegation of hospital physicians, the Paramedic II provides acute clinical care onsite at patients’ homes. Responsibilities include driving a DispatchHealth vehicle, conducting thorough clinical and environmental assessments, collaborating closely with a virtual interdisciplinary care team, and responding quickly and effectively to urgent and crisis situations. This role also involves patient and caregiver education on disease management and treatment regimes to empower health literacy and promote adherence to care plans. The position demands strong clinical documentation skills using electronic health record systems, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to infection prevention and safety protocols. Paramedic IIs act as vital liaisons linking patients with broader healthcare systems, coordinating care with social services, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity and prevent gaps. The role requires a team-oriented mindset with leadership capabilities, as well as flexibility in scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet patient needs. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, navigate and operate effectively within various home environments, and the capacity to drive and deliver care across potentially multiple markets. This field-based role represents a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative healthcare mission that aims to build the world’s largest in-home care delivery system. It is ideal for clinically expert paramedics passionate about personalized, patient-centered care and eager to work at the forefront of healthcare innovation.
