This role, reporting directly to the Restaurant General Manager and Training General Manager, is essential in maintaining a smooth and efficient customer transaction experience. The position involves enacting cash and credit card transactions for all menu items purchased by guests throughout the daily serving hours. It requires a friendly, attentive approach when greeting guests, taking and accurately repeating orders, charging the correct prices, and handling cash or credit transactions with precision and honesty. Familiarity with the California Fish Grill menu and prices is necessary to provide prompt and correct service. Additionally, the role includes being able to perform gift card transactions, making order corrections quickly, identifying counterfeit currency, and ensuring compliance with age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
Beyond transactional duties, this position upholds the restaurant’s values by contributing to a clean and safe working environment and maintaining personal presentation standards, including neat uniforms and good hygiene. Teamwork, communication, and a calm attitude while working under pressure are vital, with expectations to follow all regulations related to food safety, sanitation, and confidentiality, especially regarding guest payment data. - High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years related work experience
- Prior experience in cashier or food service positions
- Valid ServSafe or approved Food Handler Certification
- Ability to properly charge the correct price for food and drink items ordered
- Ability to operate a POS and credit card equipment
- Ability to interact with guests effectively
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Maintain composure under pressure
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
