The position functions as the resident expert in compliance with all brand standards related to front desk operations, including check-in and check-out procedures, guest entertainment, sales, and managing all aspects of the hotel’s facilities. The role requires daily supervision and leadership of Front Desk Agents and involves supporting other critical hotel departments such as Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Sales to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations. The primary objective of this position is to maintain operational excellence while maximizing hotel revenues and guest satisfaction scores. The supervisor ensures efficient guest registration, check-out, and telephone service, enforcing proper public relations techniques and handling all transactions with accuracy and professionalism. Engaging in sales activities through up-selling programs and occupancy strategies contributes to the hotel’s revenue goals. A vital component of the role is staff training and development. This includes directing and assisting front desk staff and telecommunications teams, managing break schedules, and ensuring adherence to work schedules and policy compliance. Participation in staff hiring processes, performance appraisals, and transaction management further contributes to the effective functioning of hotel operations. Operational oversight extends to ensuring proper staffing levels aligned with hotel demand, completion of daily reports and forms, and consistent compliance with local, state, and federal safety and brand regulations. The supervisor is also expected to be proactive in supporting Housekeeping with cleaning and laundry tasks, Food and Beverage by managing orders, inventory, and staff operations, as well as Marketplace functionality. The role requires excellent leadership capabilities, strong communication and computer skills, and a detailed knowledge of hospitality systems such as property management software, point of sale (POS) systems, and telecommunications equipment.
