The Family Program Support Staff is a part-time role working primarily during the after-school hours Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, as well as Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. This position offers an hourly wage of $15.50 to $16.00. The incumbent will be directly engaged in the delivery of out-of-school time programs at the main facility and will work closely with children aged 2 years and older, extending through school-aged youth, along with adults participating in family and adult education programs. The role requires an individual who is passionate about children’s education and welfare, with strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with youth, parents, guardians, and colleagues.
Responsibilities include supervision of children to maintain a safe and structured environment, delivering academic and enrichment lessons, and supporting positive behavioral interventions. The staff member will develop and implement weekly lesson plans, identify youth needing additional academic support, and serve as a role model by exhibiting program skills and boundaries. Critical to the position is the ability to ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing attendance policies, conducting behavioral tracking, and reporting any safety issues promptly. Additionally, the staff is responsible for maintaining daily schedules, managing group activities, and effectively communicating with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, concerns, and program updates.
This role requires a great deal of flexibility, professionalism, and commitment to the organization’s values. The Family Program Support Staff must be able to work under minimal supervision, demonstrating problem-solving skills and adaptability in response to changing circumstances. Bilingual abilities in Spanish and English are preferred but not required, and experience working with at-risk children is advantageous. Physical activity is part of the job, including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or kneeling, consistent with the demands of supervising and engaging children in various activities.
