The General Manager role at FG Fitness, LLC Club is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of gym operations. This includes ensuring an outstanding member experience that aligns with the company's judgement-free philosophy while driving financial success of the club. The General Manager leads and motivates a team of employees, including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians, by fostering an engaging and supportive work environment. Their leadership style is centered around continuous employee development, coaching, and accountability to maintain high operational standards and customer service excellence.
This salaried, exempt position requires a minimum 46-hour work week and occasional travel to off-site meetings. The General Manager must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification and tanning certification as part of their ongoing job responsibilities. Emphasizing both safety and operational efficiency, the role involves scheduling staff, managing payroll, handling disciplinary matters, and ensuring clean, safe gym facilities. The individual must be proactive in front desk operations such as member check-ins, tours for prospective members, and timely resolution of member inquiries or concerns.
Additionally, the General Manager oversees marketing efforts, authorizes expenditures, processes refunds, and prepares human resources forms for corporate payroll. They are also accountable for tracking various operational reports and statistics on weekly, monthly, and annual bases to assess performance and implement improvements. The physical demands of this position include the ability to stand and move throughout the gym for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain physical readiness to perform emergency CPR.
