The Waldorf Astoria Grand Wailea is currently seeking a dedicated Restaurant General Manager to join its Food & Beverage team. This full-time role involves overseeing the operations of one or more restaurants within the resort, directing a team of 20 front-of-house staff members. Reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Restaurant General Manager is responsible for ensuring outstanding guest service and maintaining the financial profitability of the dining operations. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience and location. The ideal candidate for this leadership role will bring a passion for motivating and developing a team of food and beverage professionals. Candidates must have at least 2 to 3 years of leadership experience specifically in restaurant management, along with strong knowledge of beverage operations. Experience managing unionized teams is considered a valuable asset. The Restaurant General Manager’s responsibilities are broad and demanding, encompassing planning and directing all aspects of restaurant operations. This includes setting guest service standards and initiatives, managing product quality, controlling costs to achieve profitability, executing marketing strategies, utilizing technology systems like Open Table, budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring full compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol regulations. Beyond operational management, the Restaurant General Manager is also tasked with recruiting, interviewing, and training team members while fostering a culture of continuous professional development. They will monitor service and satisfaction trends, swiftly addressing any issues and implementing improvements as needed. The role requires a proactive approach to increasing revenue through up-selling techniques, menu development, and effective cross-selling of food, beverage, and hotel-wide services. Collaboration with the Sales and Marketing/Public Relations teams is essential to maintain an active customer database and execute successful marketing initiatives.
