This full-time Non Food Handler position is based at the Ernie Davis Dining Hall on the Syracuse, NY campus. As part of the Food Service bargaining unit, this role primarily involves various supportive tasks in a dining hall or related facility to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and smooth operation of food service areas. The wage range for this position is $20.007 to $22.229 per hour, reflecting the University’s commitment to competitive and equitable pay based on responsibilities, education, experience, and external market analysis. Work hours are typically in the afternoons and evenings from 1:45 PM to 10:15 PM on selected weekdays, with Sundays and Mondays off. The Non Food Handler is integral to maintaining a clean and safe dining environment by operating dishwashing machines, cleaning dining surfaces, washing utensils, and performing sanitation of kitchen and dining areas including locker rooms and restrooms. The role demands physical activity such as standing or walking for most of the shift, bending, lifting moderate weights, and operating cleaning equipment. The ability to read and follow instructions accurately is essential, along with recording temperatures on various machines to ensure compliance with health standards. This position requires collaboration with the team to uphold safety regulations and sanitation standards consistently. The Non Food Handler may also assist in replenishing beverages and moving materials in storage areas, contributing to the efficient daily operation of the dining facility.
