Food Services Assistants are also expected to meet annual training requirements in accordance with USDA Professional Standards for School Nutrition Employees, staying current with best practices in food handling and safety. While no direct supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position, the ability to function as a cooperative team member is vital. The position is physically demanding, involving frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing, and the use of hands for food preparation and service tasks. Employees may also occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
