Menzies Aviation is currently hiring for a critical role that involves managing cargo and ensuring the smooth operation of freight handling processes at the airport. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards expected in cargo handling, security protocols, and customer service. The Cargo Agent role involves a broad variety of tasks focused on the efficient and secure release and management of cargo shipments. Responsibilities include examining critical shipping documents such as manifests, bills of lading, and air waybills to determine the appropriate procedures for cargo release, interacting directly with consignees or their representatives regarding shipment arrivals, customs requirements, and freight tonnage, as well as processing cash transactions and authorizing cargo release. The job requires close collaboration with various government agencies to ensure compliance with import regulations and the handling of dangerous goods. Employees in this position must be well-versed in the rules and regulations governed by local airports, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).   • Must have previous experience in administrative or office-based roles
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • One-year college certificate or technical school, six months related cargo agent experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to proficiently speak, read and write English
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing to include drug testing and a physical
  • Must be able and flexible to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends and holidays
  • Have/maintain current driver’s license with no violations over the past 5 years
  • Dangerous goods awareness/acceptance knowledge
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft products
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals
  • Must be comfortable lifting/moving 70lbs
  • Must have authorization to work in the USA
