The Food Service Manager position at Aramark is a pivotal management role responsible for overseeing and enhancing dining operations to meet and exceed customer expectations. In this capacity, the manager directs team activity in environments where customers order prepared foods from a menu, such as cafeterias or residential dining facilities. This role demands a blend of leadership, operational excellence, client engagement, financial oversight, and safety compliance to ensure that dining solutions are effective, efficient, and aligned with both client needs and company standards.
As a Food Service Manager, you will be expected to lead by example using Aramark’s coaching model to engage and develop your team members fully, recognizing and rewarding their contributions and successes. Planning and conducting daily team briefings will help maintain clear communication and high performance aligned with company goals. You will also play a crucial role in managing client relationships by identifying their needs and providing operational updates to foster a collaborative partnership.
Financial stewardship is a significant aspect of this role. You will ensure the successful completion and maintenance of profit and loss statements, meet or exceed financial targets, and utilize Aramark’s systems and processes to monitor performance metrics, data trends, order management, and inventory controls. Educating your team on these financial levers will be essential for improving operational margins.
Operational productivity is equally important, requiring you to focus on effective cost control, efficient workflows, and labor management. Your oversight will guarantee that food quality, production standards, and safety guidelines are strictly followed, creating a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees alike. Compliance with all relevant policies, regulations, and legal standards related to safety, health, wage, and hours will be rigorously maintained.
This position demands physical capability as well, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for extended periods, which is typical in dynamic food service environments. Your role will also include collaborating closely with the Food Service Director to lead the front of the house operations, ensuring a seamless and positive dining experience for every customer.
