The role of Production Representative at Central Market is pivotal to maintaining the quality and freshness of products that the store is renowned for. A Production Representative's duties vary depending on the specific department within the store, making the role dynamic and diverse. Key tasks include mixing, shaping, baking, wrapping, and stocking products to ensure they meet Central Market's high standards. Quality control is essential, as the Production Representative must inspect all products before they are sent to the sales floor. Maintaining sanitation and organization within the department, including back storage, freezers, walk-in coolers, and production areas, is also a crucial responsibility. Further responsibilities include reading and executing daily production lists, assisting with customer service by answering questions and taking orders, and monitoring the quality of goods to reduce shrinkage. Production Representatives also order and receive products and supplies, maintain transfer records, and continuously prep, wrap, price, sell, and stock products. Providing exceptional customer service and using suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales are also vital aspects of the role. This position is well-suited to individuals with experience in commercial production, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in stressful situations. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry loads of at least 50 lbs, as well as the capability to bend, reach, push, and pull. Flexibility is necessary, as the role requires working overnight shifts and varied schedules, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of baking preparation is preferred, along with a commitment to valuing diversity.
