The Fuel Farm Operator position based at Baltimore / Washington International Airport offers an engaging and dynamic role within the Menzies Aviation Fuel Farm Operating Team. As a Fuel Farm Operator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the fuel farm, ensuring the quality control and safe handling of various petroleum products including jet fuel, gasoline, diesel fuel, av gas, and glycol. This full-time role offers a competitive pay rate of $28.00 per hour and requires you to perform a variety of essential duties such as sampling and testing fuel products, performing inspections, basic maintenance on fueling facilities and vehicles, and managing fuel transfers through pipelines and fuel trucks.
In this position, you will work closely with Quality Control Technicians by supporting the preparation of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical reports and maintaining accurate logs of fuel transactions, quality control data, and maintenance activities. Preventative maintenance of fuel storage equipment and systems will be part of your responsibilities, along with conducting routine inspections to adhere to company, customer, governmental, and industry standards including compliance with A4A fuel quality specifications. Safety is paramount in this role, as you will be responsible for monitoring storage tanks and equipment to prevent spills, releases, overfills, and contamination, ensuring a safe and clean fuel farm environment at all times.
This role requires working in primarily outdoor settings, so you must be comfortable operating in all weather conditions. Flexibility is essential as the position involves variable shifts including weekends and holidays. The successful candidate will be required to pass several pre-employment tests, including color vision, hearing, and drug screening, as well as background checks. Obtaining and maintaining various airport badges and seals, including a US Customs seal, is mandatory for this role.

- Must be 18 years of age
- Must possess and maintain valid US driver’s license
- Must pass all pre-employment testing including a color vision test, audio test, and drug test
- Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
- Handle fueling carts and fueling hoses which will require you to lift and move up to 70lbs
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- Must pass background check and obtain US Custom seal as required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required airports and badges/seals
- Work is done primarily outdoors
- must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
