The role of Driver at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital involves providing critical transportation services within a 35-mile radius. This position supports hospital operations by transporting employees, patients, and visitors between the hospital, airport, valet lots, St. Jude parking lots, sponsored lodging facilities, and other necessary destinations. The driver also handles hospital mail delivery from the main post office to the hospital mail center and completes related pick-ups and deliveries for different hospital services. This role is integral to ensuring smooth logistical operations and positive patient and visitor interactions. Employees in this position must maintain a high level of professionalism, safety, and customer service, presenting a positive image for St. Jude. The driver maintains scheduled routes and times throughout the shift, assists passengers with entering and exiting vehicles, and ensures passenger safety with seat belt enforcement. Special duties include transport of isolation patients, medical specimens within a 20-mile radius, and general valet service for patients and guests, which encompasses managing guest keys, vehicle transfers, and maintaining the cleanliness and order of valet and parking areas. The role requires regular preventive maintenance checks, operational inspections, and simple repairs for the vehicle, with thorough documentation maintained in daily logs. Attention to safety, both vehicle safety and passenger safety, is paramount. Drivers must be capable of handling various physical and environmental demands, including occasional lifting, operating under varying weather conditions, and exposure to noisy or potentially hazardous environments. This role offers part-time shifts from 6 AM to 10 AM or 3 PM to 7 PM, providing flexibility for those looking for part-time work. Compensation for this position is competitive, with an estimated hourly wage between $19.50 and $28.50, taking into account experience, certification, and other relevant factors.   • One year experience as a professional driver
