The Assistant General Manager (AGM) role is an integral leadership position responsible for overseeing all restaurant activities within their shift to guarantee smooth operations and exceptional guest service. Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, the AGM actively supports the management team by assisting in staff management, financial performance tracking, and adherence to company policies and procedures. A major focus of the AGM is to uphold BURGER KING's brand standards for service, food quality, and safety while creating a positive and respectful workplace environment. This role requires hands-on leadership where the AGM not only manages administrative and operational tasks but also leads by example in food preparation, customer service, and cleanliness.
The AGM plays a critical part in executing limited General Manager duties as necessary and works closely with the entire team to motivate, train, and develop talent for future leadership roles. They are expected to demonstrate self-awareness, effective communication skills in both English and possibly Spanish, and the ability to make sound business decisions using financial data. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to maintain calm and professionalism in challenging situations. Additionally, the AGM must ensure compliance with labor laws, safety standards, and cash handling procedures while managing sales and labor costs efficiently.
This full-time position requires availability for various shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, along with reliable transportation to work and company events.
