This role focuses on the airfield and airspace planning sector, where Landrum & Brown leads industry efforts in designing and optimizing the world's busiest and most complex airports. The airfield/airspace team works to maximize airport performance by improving the physical layout of runways, taxiways, and aircraft ramp areas while also refining operational procedures to minimize costs and delays. Employees in this role will engage in sophisticated airfield and airspace system optimization, striving to improve operational efficiency, increase capacity, manage delays, and maintain strict compliance with safety and design standards. The position involves the use of advanced simulation tools, including fast-time simulations and TAAM software, to conduct demand and capacity analyses, evaluate alternatives, perform benefit-cost assessments, and program construction projects. This highly technical and collaborative role requires expertise in analyzing flight schedules, airport fleet mixes, aircraft gate management, and preparing detailed reports and presentations for clients. Additionally, the role involves training junior staff and fostering positive relationships with clients, emphasizing the company's commitment to professional development and client satisfaction.
The position is ideally suited for candidates with 7 to 10 years of experience in airfield and airspace planning or simulation, demonstrated proficiency with TAAM software, and strong analytical skills using tools such as Excel and Tableau. Knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, and programming languages like Python or R is advantageous.
