The role of Manager, Airport Operations at Avelo Airlines is a critical leadership position focused on guiding a cross-functional airport crew to deliver a safe, pleasant, and dependable travel experience for customers. Responsibilities include maintaining strict adherence to federal regulations, managing audits with an emphasis on safety and compliance, and fostering coordination among various airport teams including Station, Flight Operations, Inflight, and Technical Operations.
This role demands a strong operational focus on cost management, reporting accuracy, supply procurement, and efficient crew scheduling to meet demanding performance KPIs. The Manager is tasked with building and nurturing a highly motivated, well-trained team by overseeing hiring, training, performance documentation, and professional development. Acting as the quarterback of airport operations, the Manager will interface effectively with airport officials and regulatory bodies such as the FAA, TSA, and OSHA during audits and inspections, representing Avelo Automobile positively and professionally.
The ideal candidate needs proven leadership skills, effective communication capabilities, and the ability to manage complex customer situations with professionalism. Physical and logistical requirements include operating specialized airport equipment, performing physical tasks, and maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate shifts sometimes including nights, weekends, and holidays. Experience is paramount, with a minimum of eight years in airline station operations and five years in management preferred, along with a valid US driver’s license.
