The role of Manager, Airport Operations at Avelo Airlines is a critical leadership position focused on guiding a cross-functional airport crew to deliver a safe, pleasant, and dependable travel experience for customers. Responsibilities include maintaining strict adherence to federal regulations, managing audits with an emphasis on safety and compliance, and fostering coordination among various airport teams including Station, Flight Operations, Inflight, and Technical Operations. This role demands a strong operational focus on cost management, reporting accuracy, supply procurement, and efficient crew scheduling to meet demanding performance KPIs. The Manager is tasked with building and nurturing a highly motivated, well-trained team by overseeing hiring, training, performance documentation, and professional development. Acting as the quarterback of airport operations, the Manager will interface effectively with airport officials and regulatory bodies such as the FAA, TSA, and OSHA during audits and inspections, representing Avelo Automobile positively and professionally. The ideal candidate needs proven leadership skills, effective communication capabilities, and the ability to manage complex customer situations with professionalism. Physical and logistical requirements include operating specialized airport equipment, performing physical tasks, and maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate shifts sometimes including nights, weekends, and holidays. Experience is paramount, with a minimum of eight years in airline station operations and five years in management preferred, along with a valid US driver’s license. • Communicate effectively in English through reading, writing, and speaking
• maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
• perform physical tasks requiring frequent standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, and climbing
• operate equipment such as boarding ramps, tugs, and belt loaders
• lift weights up to 70 lbs. as needed
• tolerate exposure to various environmental conditions, heights, small spaces, and loud noises
• travel up to 25 percent as required
• minimum of eight years of airline station operations experience
• minimum of five years of management experience, preferably in the airline industry
• become qualified and remain current in all responsible disciplines within 30 days including Ground Security Coordinator
• possess a valid US state driver’s license
