The role of Manager, Flight Training Devices (FTD) at FlightSafety International is pivotal to maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of the FTD department at one or multiple learning centers. This managerial position requires strategic oversight of the department’s staffing, budgeting, and daily functions to ensure that flight training devices are maintained, calibrated, and upgraded according to the highest industry standards. The successful candidate will coordinate the scheduling of maintenance and regulatory qualification events, manage inventory of spares and support equipment, and ensure all software and hardware modifications undergo proper approval processes. Furthermore, the manager will play an essential role in developing procedures that abide by corporate Quality Operating Procedures (QOP) and ensuring compliance with ITAR and Export Control Laws. In this role, effective leadership is paramount as it involves supervising technical personnel, conducting safety training, and fostering a culture of safety by identifying and addressing potential risks. The Manager of FTDs is also responsible for preparing and monitoring the department’s budget, reviewing revenue and expense reports, and recommending equipment replacements or upgrades to support continuous innovation and operational excellence. This position demands a strong collaborative approach, working closely with Center Managers and Simulator Operations leadership to align the department’s goals with the organization’s overall strategic objectives. Candidates applying for this position should possess a robust technical background in simulation support and maintenance, alongside proven supervisory experience in managing certified full flight simulators or related equipment.   • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university preferred
  • AA/AS from a college
  • or completion of a civilian/military school program or certification
  • Seven (7) years' related experience including: direct simulation technical support, fault analysis and repair of digital and analog FTDs and subsystems, or related experience
  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of supervisory experience, including hands-on supervisory role of NAA certified full flight simulators, or related supervisory experience
