The Manager, Events position is a full-time role based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, reporting directly to the Director of Events. The position focuses on managing key USAV Championship Events and large-scale national qualifiers owned by USAV. This dynamic role encompasses comprehensive event planning and logistical management through to on-site execution, ensuring each event delivers exceptional, safe, and engaging experiences for all participants and stakeholders. The Manager, Events oversees assigned event budgets, supervises staff members, and collaborates closely with numerous parties including convention centers, sponsors, vendors, housing providers, and internal departments. Key responsibilities involve acting as the Tournament Director for national events, handling all pre-event arrangements, making critical decisions during events, and ensuring compliance with USAV’s standards. The role demands proactive coordination across departments such as IT, Membership, Marketing, Brand and Communications, Officials, SafeSport, Spectator Admissions, and Warehouse Operations to guarantee optimal event promotion, seamless delivery, and safety. This position necessitates extended working hours encompassing evenings, weekends, and holiday periods, along with significant travel during peak event seasons. Focused on delivering excellence, the Manager, Events must adeptly manage vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets, while also overseeing operational elements like awards procurement, housing coordination, warehouse logistics, and event registration system enhancements. The position is entrusted with upholding policies such as the Stay & Play hotel booking rules and carrying out detailed post-event assessments to identify improvements. This role not only demands strong leadership capable of supervising direct reports but also a strategic mindset to oversee multiple cross-departmental initiatives vital to the continued success and reputation of USAV’s major events.   • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum five years event management experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with event database or registration systems
  • Willingness to travel extensively

  • Must pass background screening
  • Completion of SafeSport training within two weeks of hire
  • Able to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
