The Maitre D role at Barcelona Wine Bar centers around leading the hospitality team and managing the overall vibe and guest experience throughout the restaurant. This leadership position works directly under the General Manager and has significant responsibility for establishing a welcoming environment that encourages genuine connections between guests and staff. The Maitre D acts as an ambassador of the restaurant’s hospitality philosophy, ensuring that service excellence is maintained and every guest leaves with a memorable dining experience. Key responsibilities of the position include owning the energy and tone of restaurant operations to create the best possible atmosphere for diners, maintaining a deep and comprehensive knowledge of the menu to elevate guest interactions, and collaborating closely with the management team to address and anticipate guest needs in real-time. The Maitre D also leads team meetings focused on hospitality best practices and ensures dynamic, adaptable service during peak hours, special events, and holiday shifts. This role requires someone with a passion for guest service excellence, strong problem-solving abilities, and exceptional communication skills. Availability for flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential. Ideal candidates for this position will have at least three years of experience in similar front-of-house supervisory roles such as a lead host or Maitre D, and prior certifications related to wine or beverages such as WSET or Cicerone are considered a strong advantage. An understanding of current trends in the hospitality and restaurant training landscape is also important to successfully fulfill this role.   • 3+ years with prior experience as a Maitre d', lead host, or front-of-house supervisor is preferred
