This particular role is for a Service Technician who will be responsible for the technical and mechanical upkeep of the properties managed by Greystar. The position ensures that the buildings, grounds, common areas, and amenities meet the company's high standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and functionality. The technician will complete assigned work orders related to repair and maintenance, perform preventative maintenance, and handle make-ready processes to prepare vacant apartments. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, scheduling and coordinating with vendors and contractors when necessary, and following established policies and safety standards. The technician will also support cost-cutting measures by repairing instead of replacing parts where possible and responsibly managing supplies and tools.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining the grounds, common areas, and amenities through routine cleaning and upkeep tasks such as pressure washing and painting. The Service Technician will comply with all safety and risk management policies, attend routine safety meetings, and complete necessary safety training including OSHA requirements. There will be periodic inspections of contractor work and assistance in conducting property inspections to identify safety and maintenance concerns.
Physically, the role demands the ability to stand, walk, sit for long periods, bend, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions. The position requires lifting or maneuvering weights up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance, and may include travel to support other properties or attend training sessions. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to cover evenings, weekends, and holidays on call.
Candidates must hold EPA Type 1 and II or Universal certifications for refrigerant recycling along with other certifications required by state and local jurisdictions. A valid driver’s license may be required to operate golf carts on property. This full-time position offers an hourly pay rate between $22.00 and $24.00, with additional opportunities for bonuses based on company and individual performance.
