This leadership role in tactical operations and site strategy is centered around overseeing one of GE Aviation's strategic distribution centers. The focus of the position is to exceed expectations by ensuring superior service delivery to both internal and external military customers. The role requires managing a workforce that includes both exempt employees and hourly unionized personnel. A key responsibility is to drive site operations with a focus on well-defined targets and objectives across several critical areas such as safety, delivery, quality, cost, inventory, and productivity. The leader in this role must foster a culture of continuous improvement, employing methodologies such as FLIGHT DECK fundamentals to eliminate waste and enhance efficiency. Beyond day-to-day management, this position also involves evolving the strategic plan to continuously raise standards in safety, technology, automation, and productivity at the site. Candidates for this role are expected to bring a minimum of five years of experience in plant management, distribution, logistics, or related fields, with at least three years of experience in leading an hourly workforce, whether unionized or non-union. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college is required. Preferred candidates will have Six Sigma and Lean experience, along with a strong ability to lead projects and drive improvement activities. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and presentation skills are essential, as is a proven track record of meeting customer and business needs. The role also requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, meaning that employment is contingent on the ability to obtain necessary government authorizations.
