The position of Material Handler 2 - Receiving is located in Irwindale, California, and offers an hourly pay rate of $21.25. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Team Lead, this role is vital within the warehouse's receiving department. The Material Handler 2 is responsible for efficiently handling inventory receipt tasks that include picking and unloading products, verifying order accuracy, and supporting the accurate storage and rotation of materials in compliance with company protocols. This role operates primarily in refrigerated environments typical within food production and handling environments. The successful candidate will ensure that materials are moved correctly from receiving docks into storage and subsequently to production lines as needed to maintain continuous workflow within the warehouse and production operation. Key responsibilities include maintaining regulatory and internal standards for GMP, PPE, safety, HACCP, and sanitation. The role demands attention to detail in order picking according to date rotations and product age, performing routine cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy. Proper pallet handling, including sorting and wrapping, is also an essential part of the duties, alongside verifying billing and paperwork related to products received. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in warehouse areas, coolers, docks, and trailers is required. The position handles exposure to physically demanding conditions such as cold storage, moving mechanical parts, and occasionally working at heights, requiring a high level of physical fitness and safety awareness.
