Located in Albuquerque, NM at the Vassar Dr NE retail shop, Airgas is currently seeking a Local Delivery Driver with a Class A or B commercial driver’s license including hazmat certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders using a company-provided straight or box truck to local and regional business customers. Operation starts at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, allowing drivers to enjoy quality time with family and friends outside of work hours. The company provides modern vehicles, mostly under six years old, equipped with driver-friendly technology including onboard computers, GPS navigation, collision avoidance systems, and the latest camera technology to promote safety and efficiency on the road. As the face of Airgas, the delivery driver plays a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and safe deliveries, handling cylinders according to safety standards, accurately managing delivery paperwork, and assisting warehouse operations as necessary. This role demands a high level of responsibility and adherence to strict safety and compliance regulations governed by federal entities such as the DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA. • Must be at least 21 years or older
• Must have a valid NM Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
• Must hold a valid Medical Examiner’s Card
• Must have Hazmat and Airbrake certifications
• Must have at least one year of professional driving experience within the last five years or equivalent training
• Must maintain a clean driving record with limited convictions or at-fault accidents
• Ability to lift 25 to 75 lbs routinely and occasionally lift over 125 lbs with equipment
• Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours
• Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
• Must obtain forklift operator certification
