The Cook 2 position at Invited is a key role within the culinary team, focusing on the efficient setup, preparation, and organization of food workstations. This junior-level cook role is designed for individuals with a foundational understanding of culinary techniques, who are ready to take on more complex tasks compared to entry-level cooks while offering crucial support to senior kitchen members such as Cook 3 and the sous chefs. The role requires preparation and storage of various menu items, supervision and training of junior staff, and ensuring that food quality and presentation meet Invited’s high standards. As a Cook 2, you will be responsible for producing salads, entrees, soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to established recipes. You will collaborate closely with your kitchen team to maintain cleanliness and sanitation, manage inventory, assist in menu planning, and contribute to food preparation tailored to specific dietary needs. This position demands not only culinary skills but also strong teamwork and communication abilities as you support daily kitchen operations and may be called upon to lead shifts when senior culinary staff are absent. • High school diploma or equivalent
• minimum of 4 years of experience working in a kitchen environment
• valid food handler certifications as required by local, state, and city regulations
• strong communication skills
• ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• ability to work in varying temperatures and environments
• physical ability to climb, squat, kneel, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and lift up to 100 lbs occasionally
• effective talking, hearing, and visual acuity
• ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures
• willingness to work additional hours including weekends and holidays as required by the schedule
