As a Line Cook at Happy Monkey, you will play a key role in maintaining the restaurant's high standards by preparing and presenting delicious dishes that reflect the artistry and vision of Chef Jean-Georges. Reporting directly to the restaurant's Chefs, you will be expected to operate with professionalism, efficiency, and a commitment to quality in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Your responsibilities include following established recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency and excellence. Successful candidates will be skilled in various modern and classical cooking techniques and have the ability to work in a team-oriented setting while maintaining a clean and safe workstation. This role requires standing for long hours, dexterity with kitchen tools, and a passion for delivering an exceptional guest experience. - High school diploma or equivalent
- Two year degree or apprenticeship
- Up to date sanitation classes
- Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in english
- Ability to follow directions and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and managers
- Ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and properly
- Ability to utilize the computer system and read all orders
- Ability to prepare and present food timely
- Ability to handle and rotate food according to established procedures
- Ability to work closely with standard recipes and plate presentation
- Ability to work standing for up to ten hours
- Ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized workspace
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to cook a variety of foods using modern and classical techniques
