This role requires the production of both hot and cold menu items to the highest quality, ensuring that every dish meets the exceptional standards that Pebble Beach guests expect. The cook must be versatile and adaptable, ready to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays to support the resort’s dynamic schedule. As a Cook 1, you will be responsible for grilling, baking, sautéing, steaming, and cooking a diverse range of menu items including soups and sauces under the direction of sous chefs. Task assignment to Cook 2 employees will be managed with the approval of chefs or sous chefs, emphasizing strong teamwork and communication skills. Additional responsibilities involve collaborating with butchers to maintain consistency in products, portions, cuts, and amounts, helping maintain a clean and orderly work environment, and adhering strictly to recipes to ensure quality and consistency. Attention to detail in garnishing plates, timing cooking processes for efficient service, maintaining visual appeal of food presentation, and food freshness through proper rotation practices are critical components of the role. The Cook 1 also plays a key part in training less experienced Cook 2 staff members and supporting buffet station setups, including carving and stir-fry functions. Safety and health compliance according to Pebble Beach Company policies are mandatory. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $29.00 to $30.00 per hour and includes comprehensive full-time benefits.
