The role of Lead, Pilot - Gulfstream 550 Pilot in Command (PIC) at L3Harris is a prestigious and challenging position that requires a seasoned professional who excels in aviation operations, safety management, and customer service. This position entails joining an elite team responsible for the establishment and operation of Gulfstream 550 flight missions, including training other pilots within the organization on the G550 aircraft. The Lead Pilot will be responsible for ensuring all flight operations comply with stringent safety, scheduling, training, certification, and qualification standards. The role demands meticulous adherence to crew flight and duty time limitations and operating procedures, maintaining high levels of communication and coordination with customers to uphold a culture of safety and operational excellence. This position also requires readiness for on-call duties and flexibility to respond to travel demands on short notice. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development of flight operations and training programs, contributing to the organization’s efficiency and reputation for outstanding service. Relocation is required to ensure a one-hour response time to Richmond, VA International Airport. The role also involves obtaining and maintaining a Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance and being eligible for type qualification in the Boeing 757. Candidates must possess advanced piloting skills, exceptional interpersonal communication, and organizational capabilities to excel in this high-stakes environment. • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance
• Will require eventual type qualification in the Boeing 757
• Ability to obtain an airport clearance/security badge (FAA)
• ATP, with experience in aircraft with MTGW of 74K lbs or greater
• Must be highly skilled, with a high degree of tact and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience with daily interface with customers at numerous levels
• Applicant must possess outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to read, speak and write English language
• Ability to lift/move and maneuver 50 – 75 pounds above the head
