The position of Line Cook at Clarendale at Indian Lake is a full-time opportunity that offers between 35 to 40 hours per week, with a competitive pay range of $17 to $19 per hour depending on experience. This role is vital within the Community Culinary Services Department, where the kitchen functions in a "restaurant-style" manner, using Point of Sale (POS) systems to efficiently manage meal orders. The Line Cook is responsible for hands-on production cooking, ensuring that every meal meets the high standards of quality, presentation, and dietary requirements necessary for the senior population served. This includes preparing meals according to menu cycle programs that comply with nutritional and dietary guidelines and local regulations. Beyond cooking, the Line Cook plays an important role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the kitchen, adhering strictly to community standards at all times. The role demands speed, accuracy, efficiency, and knowledge across all areas of cooking preparation and production. Collaboration with servers and the culinary team is essential, as is occasionally assisting with serving meals and washing dishes. The Line Cook also engages directly with residents by visiting periodically to evaluate the quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance of the food being served and suggests any operational improvements necessary to enhance the dining experience.
